EMONBASE Multi EMONTX

Hi, Couldn't find answer to this on forum but know its been discussed, maybe someone can help point me in right direction. How many EMONTXs can I connect to one EMONBASE?

I have 12 CTs in total, topology is two separate systems each with two EMONTXs ( with 3CTs) connected to one EMONBASE.  However as it turned out they are located together so I wish to recover one EMONBASE and connect 12 CTs four EMONTXs (3CTs each) to one EMONBASE.  Any suggestion or comments welcome.

Thanks Peter

Re: EMONBASE Multi EMONTX

Hello Peter, yes 4 emontx's to one base should be no problem, I wrote a small sketch to make adding nodes easier the other day which I still need to document:

https://github.com/openenergymonitor/NanodeRF/tree/master/NanodeRF_multi...

With this sketch and the latest version of emoncms you dont need to reconfigure the basestation every time you add a new node.

Re: EMONBASE Multi EMONTX

Hi Trystan, Thanks a mil, I will try later, I need to add some code Robert Wall helped me with to average reading ( reduce bandwidth).

A short but unrelated question, what's happened to enclosure in shop have you ceased selling or moved on to new type?

Following my first real installation I note that emontx really needs to be battery powered for certain installations, in my case so as to facilitate electric panel closing.. I think it would be good to have a battery that would last 6 months or a year  or ten - has this been considered?

Cheers

Peter

Re: EMONBASE Multi EMONTX

Excellent work Trystan. Tried your new emontx multi sketch as you sugested and it works a dream, very easy to deploy (four emontx with one emonbase), very little programing needed (changed nodeID's only and then the usual changes to emonbase namely web address and JSON API key).

Cheers

Peter
