3.5 MM Jacks soldered on wrong side of EmonTx Arduino Shield SMT

I purchased the EmonTx Arduino Shield SMT and unfortunately soldered the four 3.5 CT jacks on the wrong side of the PCB.    the 3.5 CT Jack has 4 leads in a row.   Looking at the schematic, it appears that i can just run a green wire  from the outmost two leads of a single jackto make the necessary connection.   clearly I would need to do this for each of the 4 jacks.

 

   Is this possible?   or do I need to try and un-solder the 4 jack and put them on the correct side to get the wiring correct

I made the same mistake - unfortunately.

Sorry - I can't comment on your patch idea.  I tried to remove them - but was rather clumsy in the process - so ordered a new kit in the end - which was very frustrating.

It would be helpful to have a sticker on the board to tell you which side to solder those components.

Disclaimer: I don't have a Shield, I'm working from diagrams. So you need to check with a multimeter.

Using normal telecomms notation, the 'inners' - contacts which break when a plug is inserted, are only used to allow the sketch to detect the presence of a plug. It should still work, but if not, you can ignore it and adjust the sketch accordingly. The 'outers' are the contacts that connect to the plug. Therefore, all you need is a short link between the two 'outers'. But make sure there is no connection to the ring of the plug inside the plug, because that is now connected in parallel with the tip, and don't use a 'mono' plug either, because the socket's ring and tip contacts are then shorted to the sleeve, and the CT won't work.

And regarding "It would be helpful to have a sticker on the board to tell you which side to solder those components.", you could always look at the photographs!

Thank you both for your responses.   I decided to un-solder the 3.5 MM jacks and put them on the right way.   It did take some time to get them removed and reattached, but I felt it was the best course to take.  

 

In any event,   the EMON is operational.   And yes,  next time I will refer to the detailed pictures on the web site.   Had I done that first,  I would not have gotten my self into the bind.
