Double click needed to make feeds public

Another little quirk of emoncms v8 is when clicking the briefcase to change it to a globe and make a feed public, it requires a rapid double click if the briefcase is currently displayed and a single click if the globe is displayed. it would seem the same "false" json command is used each click regardless of current state, only a rapid double click will issue the required "true" json as the second command needed to switch from private to public.

I've compared this to emoncms.org which I found just one click does the job everytime. So I don't think the double click is meant to be there but now I am aware I can work with it.

See the screenshot of a chrome dev tools window, you can see the initial command is always false.

Rats! All this time I thought it was a padlock! <grin>

Thanks for the info. I'd noticed the same thing and thought I was never going to get them changed to "public!"

Cannot confirm this 100%. Sometimes (?) only one single click is enough to change it in either direction. But most times it is like you said. Another problem for me is, that after clicking the pen, first the 'check mark' displays (and values are editable) but then the display auto-updates within ~0-3 seconds and the feed is not editable again. I sometimes need 10-20 tries to get a value changed.

I've seen that problem on version 7 and found refreshing the page usually stops the auto update interference

Doh! thanks Bill.

I have also experienced the "not enough time to edit" situation a couple of times, but not frequently enough to pick up any useful info yet

Confirmed! Very useful hint, Bill.

I've noticed that refreshing the page cures the problem Jörg mentioned. Seems to work every time. I first noticed it with version 5.
