No Inputs received

Having run flawlessly for a month or so, using a pi, both the EmonTH and the TX inputs stopped at exactly the same time.  I firstly rebooted the pi without removing the power but still no input.  I then shutdown and removed the power supply.  On restart logging has restarted.

Rather disappointed that a reboot did not help as it makes the system somewhat unreliable.

I assume the RFM board stopped for some reason and it required a total loss of power to get it going.  Is there any other option than to completely power down?

Re: No Inputs received

Hello borpin123, this may be an issue associated with the rfm12pi sending time updates combined with old firmware, I had a similar problem which was fixed by updating the firmware. But if you dont need the time sending to an emonglcd you could stop the time sending instead which can be done by either the packetgen module if your using the harddrive image/build or via oem_gateway config or raspberrypi module config.

if your rfm12pi adapter board is version 2, follow the instructions here to update the firmware

Re: No Inputs received

Hi. I'm having a similar problem, everything works for a few hours to a few days then the rfm12pi led stops flashing and no inputs are received at emoncms. It can be started again by SSH to the pi and issuing reboot command or by powering off and on.

My hardware is emontx v2, emonglcd, raspberry pi with rfm12pi v1

I've disabled time sending to glcd but it seems to make no difference. Is it possible to upgrade the firmware of the rfm12pi v1?

You can find details of how to upgrade v1 firmware on the wiki http://wiki.openenergymonitor.org/index.php?title=Raspberry_Pi

Re: No Inputs received

Thanks for the link Paul but I dont have an AVR programmer. After looking for one, it would appear to be more cost effective and straightforward to just buy an rfm12pi v2 although that won't identify if the upgrade would solve the problem.
