Intercepting Commercial Energy Monitor TX

Hi, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, couldn't find anything on it, likewise I apologize if I've broken any forum rules asking this.

I've just started playing with Arduino and emoncms etc, having already got had a non-logging OWL for the last 5 or so years. I was wondering if anyone had succeeded in sniffing the TX from the OWL current meter and using that as a feed for EMONCMS? Plenty of info regarding intercepting signals from e.g. weather stations (which is my main interest at the moment, but would love to be able to correlate power usage with weather)

Google didn't provide much useful information to me either.

It's been asked before (or similar) and as far as I know, nobody has published details of having done it (yet). That doesn't mean it's not possible, of course.

Thanks. just makes it harder as there's no starting point to work from e.g. even to know what frequency they transmit on.

The new (Intuition) Owls use 868Mhz, so it's likely the old ones do too.

One possibility would be to keep your existing Owl setup (meter clamp and display), but add an additional clamp + emonTx to collect and log data to a computer.

Thanks, was hoping to get away with the 433Mhz the rest of my setup uses, and to just piggyback on the transmission.
