How to delete old data?

I have 3 feeds to Emoncms. They all have garbage data in them while I was testing out the hardware. Now I would like to delete the data in the inputs but I don't seem to see a way to delete old data. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Re: How to delete old data?

All the data is stored as 'feeds', so if you delete the feeds from the feeds page, it will also delete all of their associated data. Then re-create the feeds from the inputs.

I seem to think that if you name the 'new' feeds the same as the 'old' feeds, your saved dashboards (if you have any) will still continue to function. (anyone confirm pls?)

Not tried, but the new feed will have a different ID and I don't think it should work. I mean if it did, it might be considered as a bug.

Re: How to delete old data?

If your feeds are setup as you desire and all you want to do it delete the data collected so far, you can use phpMyAdmin to edit the data in the feed tables directly. It is easy to delete the data while leaving the tables intact.

phpMyAdmin is also useful for backing up and restoring your database, or tables within it, using SQL

Re: How to delete old data?

I'm using an install emonCMS v8 on my own webserver.

I've found that by deleting (actually I temporarily moved them to a temp folder) the associated .dat files in the /var/lib/phpfiwa and /var/lib/phpfina folders it resets all old timestore values to 0 upon the next entry into the feed.  I'm assuming the .meta files need to remain to track start and frequency information.

When I return the deleted/moved .dat files back to their original folder (overwriting the new .dat files created), the old data re-appears.

The visualizations reflect the moving of data instantly.

Hi

How can I delete spike from feed data?Editrealtime "delele window data" would not work.  My energy consumption is not working because the spike in Pulses total after I deleted the data from kwh/d window. I assume it is confused because the data is not growing ok because of  the data spike.

It could be ok even delete all data just before the extra pulses till now.
