Suggestions for feed/vis setup for low resolution pulses

Hi all, I'm just looking for some ideas how to setup feeds and vis for a low resolution input.
I'm monitoring a district heating reader which gives 1 pulse per kWh. Since it's starting to get summer here in Sweden where I live it's almost only used a little bit on the night and otherwise for the hot water, so there's only about 8-15 pulses every 24h.
I would like to be able to read out for example avg. kWh for current day this month, consumption for the year e.t.c.
