Hi, Is it possible to set up a connection between the base station and the laptops so all the measuring data can be collected without the emoncms?

The simple answer is yes. The programmer uses a serial connection, so it is entirely possible to receive data via a serial port (or more likely a virtual one using the installed drivers). Having done that, you can do what you wish with the data. However, you laptop needs to be always on or data will be missed.
