min/max feeds not working at emoncms.org

I have an old account on emoncms.org where I have a few feeds logging temperatures. I set it up a few years ago and one user here had to do some magic to my account to fix some issues. I don't remember whom and my old account has been deleted so I had to create a new account to be able to login here again.

I added a new input yesterday and added three processes:

  • log to feed
  • min value
  • max value

But the feeds for min/max are not updating and in the feeds list they show as "inactive". I also notice that my old min/max feeds are of type MYSQL but the new ones are of type PHPTIMESERIES. But there is nowhere I can change that.

After checking my old inputs I noticed that the order of the processes were slightly different:

  • log to feed
  • max value
  • min value

So I changed my new input to have the same order but they are still "inactive".

Is there any known issue with this right now or am I doing something wrong?

Nothing?

I also noted that multi graphs are not working ok. One old that I modified is now only showing 2/4 feeds. And a new one that I created shows nothing.

@nilrog I wonder if something went wrong in conjunction with this server outage on the 25th? you mentioned you created the feeds then? https://openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/12240

If you where to try recreating the feeds again now, does the same issue occur?

Re: min/max feeds not working at emoncms.org

Deleting the feeds and creating them again did not help. The "log to feed" feed works, but not the max and min. The are still listed as "inactive".

And the multigraph isn't working as it should either. I deleted all the feeds from the graph except the one that works. When I add the third one I see a graph for that feed. And when I add the fourth feed the third one disappears and the fourth one shows for a short while before that one disappears too. So now it is just as before I tried deleting the feeds. Only one feed shows in the multigraph.

And just to be clear. Some of the feeds not working in the multigraph are not new. They have been working for years...and still work fine. It's just the multigraph that is not working.

I also created a new multigraph and that one is 100% broken...no data shows up in the multigraph...and those feeds are all old, working, feeds.

Re: min/max feeds not working at emoncms.org

The multigraph can perform like this if there is a reliability issue with the underlying data and the skip missing data box is unticked (its a new feature). If you tick each skip missing data box the data will show up in this case.

I can see the issue affecting max/min feeds I will get that fixed.

Re: min/max feeds not working at emoncms.org

Ok, ticking the "skip missing data" checkbox fixed the multigraph issues.

It was not ticked because it was not set in the old multigraph. So when I set up the new one, and modified the old one, I unticked it for all the new feeds I added. Pretty bad but imo.

And the only reason I deleted feeds from the old multigraph was because I wanted a different order of the label. And I could not find a way to reorder the feeds in the multigraph. If that feature is missing i'd like to vote for such a feature to be added since it's a bit cumbersome to delete/add the feeds.

So that leaves me with only the min/max feeds broken then.

Thanks for the help :)
