No Arduino Files -> Sketchbook -> libraries

I'm guessing this is a documentation shortcoming...

This page:

   http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/buildingblocks/installing-arduino-libraries

says

Click on File > Sketchbook > libraries and you should see the list of libraries. Note: The IDE only checks the libraries at start-up. Each time you change or add a library, you must shut down and restart the IDE.

but I'm finding that menu item is not populated.  This is with the latest Arduino IDE, that I downloaded tonight, but I think I've seen that in an Arduino IDE I downloaded a few months ago as well.

Of course, if you think there's actually a problem at my end, please do let me know.  And if I really should be posting this elsewhere, please let me know.

I don't understand your problem. Which is your "latest" version? What OS are you using? Did you follow exactly all the steps preceding that one - including the steps in "Setting up the Arduino Environment"?

If the libraries are not listed, then on the face of it, it seems likely that you did not successfully install them as (or where) suggested.

Re: No Arduino Files -> Sketchbook -> libraries

Hi Robert.

I don't actually personally have a problem, but I'm just trying to alert the people working on that page that there appears to be a discrepancy that might trip up some newbies.    BTW... the libraries ARE listed under Sketch -> Include Library.

This is on Windows 10.   Arduino 1.6.7.   I think I previously reproduced this discrepancy a few months back on Windows 7 as well.   Yes.  I appear to have followed all the steps.    Despite not being listed in that menu it was functional back then and I updated some emonTx's.  I've not fully tested it this time because I don't want to update any emonTx's right now, but it is able to verify the sample OEM sketches cleanly.

I hope this helps.

Re: No Arduino Files -> Sketchbook -> libraries

No, it doesn't help at all. Did you put your emon libraries in with the default libraries, rather than with your sketches as suggested? If you did, then you need to read the section immediately beneath the heading "Installing Arduino Libraries - Windows 8.1" for the reasons why it is not a good idea to install the custom libraries there.
