Wheezy or Jessie

Hi

I am about to set up a new pi to try V9.0.

Should I use Wheezy or Jessie?

Regards

Ian

Re: Wheezy or Jessie

I personally would install Jessie, others may disagree.

Reasons for;

  • Jessie will very shortly become the OEM preferred operating system
  • A draft installation guide is available
  • I've installed now on 4 Pi's and they are all working reliably both Low-write & Full-write.

Reasons against;

  • Wheezy has evolved and most bugs sorted
  • Wheezy is currently the preferred OEM operating system
  • There is greater forum knowledge about Wheezy

Your choice!

Paul

Hi Paul

Thanks I will give Jessie ago.

I see that Chaveiro is providing updates on git hub. What is the command format for applying these updates to a V9 installation. (For the Linux challenged!)

Re: Wheezy or Jessie

Ian, there may be some changes in the OEM git structure shortly, I would recommend staying on the default v9.0 branch for now.

If however you choose not to, and currently have v9.0 installed. From your emoncms folder;

$ git checkout 9.x

$ git pull
