EmonCMS - how to move from vlow-write to standard 8.5

Good Evening All,

I have recently purchased the following hardware:

  • Emon Base - Raspberry Pi 2 (with RFM69pi)
  • EmonTxShield v2

I have mangaged to get everything calibrated and talking to each other. However i have noticed that there is no option using the standard SD Image that is shipped with the Emon base to do any historical logging. It is simply discarded. I assume this is due to the vlow-write design of the firmware.

I have since mounted an NFS share on my pi and was hoping to pipe the data to that location rather than the SD. But since it doesn't write data, i cannot use that.

I have tried a clean install of emoncms v8.5 and managed it to receive the data from emonhub (i can see it receiving mqtt data in the emoncms.log), however said data does not appear in the Nodes menu; it simply remains empty.

So would anyone be able to help me out how to get either emoncms vlow edition to log data long term, or install a full version of the emoncms distro so it can show the nodes?

Thanks in advance all,
FlakAttack

Hello FlakAttach, The standard SD card image with the low-write image of emoncms does support historical data logging. Step 3 in the setup guide here http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/modules/emonpi details how to record data locally on an emonbase or emonpi (both use the same software).
