And it seems I failed miserably despite following the instructions line by line...
I went through the instructions line by line to set up a EmonCMS server, and when I got to the point of browsing to the server, I get 'The requested URL /emoncms was not found on this server.'. Only difference is I'm not going to http://localhost/emoncms, I'm going to it's IP remotely (http://Ipofhost/emoncms) since it's running on a Ubuntu 15.04 server with no GUI.
If I just go to http://IPofHost I get the Apache2 default page. I tried changing the 'DocumentRoot' from '/var/www/html' to /var/www/emoncms' and I don't get a 'not found, but I do get a blank page.
Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

Can you tell us a bit more about your server. Is it a shared server?

No, it's not a shared server. It's a Ubuntu 15.04 server freshly set up in my VMWare environment. The only thing I installed during setup was the OpenSSH server - other than that, everything else was installed after the OS was installed by way of the instructions for setting up the EnomCMS server.

I too followed the install guide and got tripped up by the default www folder being var/www/html/. I got lucky and copied the emoncms folder from var/www/ into var/www/html/ and the emoncms default login page now comes up using X.X.X.X/emoncms.

Thanks Bill - the answer was in there. Not sure how I missed it as I've been poking around the forums quite a bit. Now I have to hurry up and wait for everything to get here :). Sadly, it seems the EmonTX will probably get here from the UK faster than the CTs will get here from Chicago :/.

During my first forum visit, I remember thinking to myself "holy cow, where do I start?!"
That was a bit over two years ago.
I marked the thread as solved, and edited the title to reflect it's an Ubuntu/VMWare install.
That way, if someone else has a similar issue, and searches for Ubuntu or VMWare, they'll find your thread.
Which CTs did you buy?

I ordered two 'WC1-100-MA100' CTs for monitoring my main supply, and two 'SCT-013-000' CTs to monitor the feed to my sub panel.

If memory serves, the WC-1s I bought took ~4 weeks to arrive, but I bought mine from Byram Labs, and part of the delay was the Christmas holiday season.
