Hello World!

Hi,

My name is Richard and I joined up a few days ago, so hello everyone.

I had a ~4KW PV array fitted earlier this year and after finding a link to the Kickstarter campaign (in one of those spam emails that twitter send out regularly), I backed the emonPI to get a Mega Temperature package. I'm currently, eagerly, awaiting it's arrival, but in the meantime have been spending as much time as I can researching around the project and looking into related energy saving, monitoring and automation possibilities. I have been interested in open source hard/software for about the last 7-8 years, EVs for the last 4 years and science, technology, electronics, computers etc. for as long as I can remember.

I have some ideas, questions and suggestions for the site, but I thought I'd say hello and introduce myself before I dive straight in.

Thanks,

Rich.

Thanks so much for the welcome; I appreciate it. I checked out the link to your OEM feed in your profile and was impressed by the split that you got  from your PV set-up. I live in Bucks, UK, and had sunny weather this morning, but not that good! What's your setup?

Rich.

Re: Hello World!

Hi Rich,

I have 36 panels and Enphase microinverters. I'm in Oklahoma, (USA) and at this time of year it's typically hot and sunny. The weather has been crazy for almost the entire month of May. We've had lots of rain, and clouds. My system should be making between 55 and 60 kWH per day, but the weather has chopped that just about in half.

If you click May 11 on my dashboard, (top bar chart) you'll see a curve typical of what my system usually produces during May.

Thanks for the good words!

Bill
