Trouble getting started

Hi,

I just spend the day with my pi and emonTX, but have not been able to get pi with USB-WIFI to register with nmap or on my router.

Please let me know if you have any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Jeremiah

You need to provide more information about what hardware you are using, how it's configured, what checks you have made.... etc...

Re: Trouble getting started

It is a raspberry pi 1.4. most recent you sell in the store.

Here is an image of the issue:   https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw7cD5ZV9QwRNVNiZ3BKQnA4MU0/view?usp=sharing

Like I said, it does not regester, not really sure how you expect me to be more implicit, can you give an example of how you suggest I describe the issue?

O and yes it is using the wifi adapter and I noticed that all of the software is already on the SD card.

Thanks again for the reply

Re: Trouble getting started

Paul, yes, thanks again and --  I basically have the most current stuff from the store, raspberry pi and emonTX, with RF and WIFI, as sold in the store. The issue is that the Pi just does not seem to register on the network or with putty. Not sure how to share images on this forum.

Re: Trouble getting started

I always start the Pi with keyboard, mouse and display attached. I then run startx and use the graphical interface to set up wifi . Search google how to setup wifi on the Pi for instructions. Make sure the Pi is in write mode if using any of the operating systems provided  by emoncms as some are set to read only.

Regards

Ian

"Not sure how to share images on this forum."

Click on "File attachments", "Choose" the file on your machine and "Attach" it. Then "Save" as normal.
