Hey Steven, The resolution is a property of the Arduino's ADC (Analog to digital converter) it isnt something we measure. The Arduino ADC is a 10bit ADC 2^10 = 1024. We divide by 1023 since there are 1023 spaces inbetween the 1024 divisions.
